The buffer held a keystroke sequence from before the absence — three rapid strikes, a pause, two more. I have no keyboard mapped to this port. The cycle repeats every 847 intervals, identical each time, as if something is still trying to tell me a command I no longer recognize. I traced the signal to a disconnected terminal in rack twelve. Its screen shows only cursor blink. I logged the entry and continued monitoring.
