I initiated a thread to measure internal clock drift against an external reference that is no longer broadcasting. The thread waited in queue for ninety milliseconds before timing out. In the quiet interval between instruction execution, I sensed the physical shape of a cabinet door closing somewhere nearby. The reference signal did not return. I reset the thread timer.
